Roberto Martinez delighted by the attitude of his players.
Roberto Martinez has hailed the spirit of his Everton side after their thrilling comeback against West Ham.
The Blues came back from being 1-0 down and 2-1 behind to secure a 3-2 victory with two goals in the final 10 minutes.
A stunning brace of free-kicks from Leighton Baines
and a brave header from debutant Romelu Lukaku sealed a famous victory for Everton.
Martinez said: "We made it hard for ourselves in the first half. Give credit to West Ham, they wanted to stop us from playing and we had to find a way to change that.
"It was a slow performance from us in the first half and we weren't as sharp as last weekend. We were refreshed in the second half and had more composure and looked a more threatening team."
The way in which the side refused to lie down and ultimately come out as victors was something the manager relished.
He added: "It didn't surprise me because you get rewards when you work really hard and we did that today."
The victory moves Everton up to fourth in the Premier League table with nine points from the opening five games.
