Martinez: Enjoy The Fiesta!
Blues boss tells us what he misses about his homeland.
Goodison Park will play host to a footballing fiesta for the forthcoming visit of Chelsea - and Roberto Martinez has spoken to evertontv all about the things he misses from his homeland.
The Balaguer-born boss has lived on British shores for the past 18 years, since joining Wigan Athletic as one of the "Three Amigos" in 1995.
But to celebrate his arrival on Merseyside, the Blues will be bringing a taste of the new manager's native land to Goodison Park this weekend.
"Remember that Spain is a big, big country and you've got different areas and different influences," said Martinez. "But I think it's a fascinating culture to dig into because it's a very telling culture in terms of history.
"I am a big fan of Spanish music and different composers, and especially Catalan music writers because they reflect a lot of the history of my area. I hope the fans can enjoy the day."
Spain will provide the inspiration for a series of events aimed at making our mouth-watering contest with Jose Mourinho's men an even more memorable occasion for all the family.
The 'Fan Fiesta' will take place before the match (kick off 5.30pm), with special entertainment getting underway from 3.30pm at selected locations around the stadium.
Spanish-inspired entertainment will be on offer all around the ground and will include a special playlist of tracks in the Fan Zone, selected by supporters via the Club's official social networking platforms.
Paella and other special Spanish treats will be available in the Park End Fan Zone and throughout the Club's hospitality lounges.
There will also be loads of giveaways for younger fans to take advantage of, including Everton-branded hand-clappers.
And fans can get involved in the run up to the clash too, with competitions and quizzes running each day on the Club's Twitter and Facebook pages.
After the game, matchgoers will even be able to upload their photos from the day - and Martinez will later pick his favourite and sign it for the winner!
