Hinnigan Out For Revenge

Midfielder ready for Thursday's Merseyside derby.

Hinnigan Out For Revenge

Michelle Hinnigan says Everton Ladies cannot wait for the chance to avenge June’s 4-1 Merseyside derby defeat when they tackle WSL leaders Liverpool at the Halton Stadium on Thursday.

With three games of the league campaign to go, Andy Spence’s side sit fifth in the standings but desperate to end the season on a high.

“We have been a bit disappointed with the way we have been performing this year,” Hinnigan told evertonfc.com. “But it’s the derby and a big rivalry.

“In the last one we got beat so we want to prove a point - particularly because it’s on TV as well. It will be a good game for those watching.

“Every game that we have played in this season has been a big game and this one is no different. But of course with it being Liverpool – our local derby – it adds that extra bit of spice.

“They are top of the league and going for the title so it will be a good game and hopefully we can get the three points.

“We are still concentrating on winning the games we have left. We want to finish strong and be as high as we possibly can in the table.

“Against Liverpool, Lincoln and then Arsenal we just want to show everyone what Everton is really about – that we can play brilliant football.”

Liverpool Ladies v Everton Ladies is live on BT Sport. Kick off 7.30pm.
