Everton Move Excites Lukaku
Belgian hitman takes to social media to voice excitement.
Romelu Lukaku took to social media to signal his excitement at joining Everton.
A season-long loan signing of the Chelsea forward was agreed shortly before Monday's transfer deadline and has now been ratified by the relevant authorities.
The Belgian hitman arrives from Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season, which yielded 17 goals.
He took to his Twitter account to break the news to his followers, tweeting: "Signed @Everton on a season long loan."
Later he used his Instagram account to post an image of the club crest, adding: "New year, new challenges #EFC #Toffees."
During his spell at the Hawthorns last term Lukaku scored a number of high profile goals, including a hat-trick against Manchester United and a winning effort against Liverpool at Anfield.
The powerful striker, still only 20, joined Chelsea from Anderlecht as an 18-year-old in 2011, having already enjoyed a goal-laden spell in Belgium.
He has played only a handful of times for his parent club making three substitute appearances this term including Friday's UEFA Super Cup final against Bayern Munich.
He has accumulated over 20 caps for his country where he is a teammate of Kevin Mirallas and is in the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland in Glasgow this weekend.
