Seamus Coleman believes Everton's internationals will return from the early season break ready to turn draws into wins.

The Republic of Ireland right-back is one of several first-teamers currently away with his national side, with Everton not in action until 14 September when Chelsea visit Goodison Park.

With only the woodwork preventing a win over West Brom and a controversial decision not to award the Toffees a penalty in Cardiff, Coleman believes it is only a matter of time before draws become victories.

He told evertontv after the 0-0 draw in South Wales: "It's disappointing not to get something from the game going into the international break.

"I thought we controlled the game for large parts of the 90 minutes but to win games, you need to get a goal and we didn't get that.

"If you have so much of the ball, I'm sure you'll create more chances. Obviously going into the international break, we would have liked all three points but Manchester City came here last week and got beat, so it's not too bad of a result overall - it's just a pity that we haven't picked up a win in our first three games."

Having carried on from where he left off last season with consistent high-energy performances and already sporting a goal to his name this term, 24-year-old Coleman says he is keen to help out at both ends of the pitch.

He added: "First and foremost, the job of a full-back is to defend and when we can, it's really important to get forward and help the wide players.

"They're very exciting players. Steven Naismith has been sharp in pre-season and Pienaar, Mirallas and Deulofeu are also sharp players. It's all about getting the ball to them and supporting them."
