Martinez: Let's Build On Clean Sheet
Blues boss not downbeat despite frustrating 0-0 draw.
Roberto Martinez believes encouragement can be taken from Saturday's 0-0 draw against West Brom.
The Blues dominated proceedings throughout the afternoon at Goodison and hit the woodwork twice late on as the Baggies held out for a draw - Everton's second in as many games following the 2-2 at Norwich.
With Tim Howard only called upon on the odd occasion at the other end, Martinez is now looking to build on a clean sheet in his first competitive home game in charge.
"I have been very encouraged," he stated at the final whistle.
"I think in both draws we were the team that deserved the three points.
"At Norwich, clearly with the amount of chances we created and going 2-1 ahead, it was a disappointment to drop two points.
"Today I thought we were a little frustrated in the first half, but as the game went on, you could only see us scoring.
"West Brom were a threat from set-plays and I thought we dealt with it really well. They were really dangerous on the counter-attack and we coped with that too.
"There are many areas that we need to improve, that's clear. But keeping a clean sheet today in the manner that the game went is very encouraging.
"I see two positive draws rather than points dropped from both."
