Pick Up A Programme
Our matchday read gets a new look for the new season.
Saturday’s first home fixture of the new campaign will see the Club’s new-look programme make a debut outing.
Still priced at £3 and still 84 pages of all things Everton, the programme features have been tweaked and altered over the course of the summer to ensure a quality read from front cover to back page.
Leon Osman serves as the featured player for the opening issue and West Brom at home holds pleasant memories for the Blues midfielder. He notched his first Goodison Park goals against the Baggies back in August 2004.
He recalls those goals in an exclusive interview while also revealing there starting a season at Goodison is difficult to compare to anything else.
“It is great to get the season going after a long pre-season but there is nothing like the first game at Goodison,” admits Osman. “To get the feeling of the fans behind you and the team getting into the start of the season, it’s great to hear that first Goodison roar.
“It’s very important to kick off your home form with a positive result. It’s important to start the season as a whole well but it is vital to get that first home win at Goodison under your belt as quickly as possible. We had an impressive record last season and the aim is to continue that this year.”
Elsewhere in the programme, Kevin Kilbane helps launch our brand new ‘Us and Them’ feature. Killa, who of course played for both Everton and West Brom, had to pick an XI of players he had played with. The rules – he had to pick six Blues and five Baggies!
Of course there are the first set of Premier League programme notes from new boss Roberto Martinez and his skipper Phil Jagielka, while there’s plenty of info on our opponents West Brom.
We’ve also got the latest news from the Under-21, Under-18 and Ladies camps, as well as a revamped page for the kids.
Available around the ground tomorrow, you can also buy the programme now. To purchase the digital version of the new Everton programme simply click here.
