Wednesday’s papers are full of transfer speculation.
The Liverpool Echo has a number of stories regarding the Toffees, including boss Roberto Martinez stating ‘the best is yet to come' from Ross Barkley.
A second introduction piece into Howard Kendall’s autobiography ‘Love, Affairs and Marriage’ is also inside today’s Echo. In addition, there's a piece on Billy Ingham, a lifelong Evertonian who was selected to feature in the new TV advert for the Premier League sponsors Barclays.
In the national papers today, transfer talk is the main topic surrounding the Blues.
The Daily Telegraph link Manchester City defender Gareth Barry to a move from the Etihad to Goodison Park, however negotiations on wages are reportedly causing a problem.
Elsewhere, The Independent, The Daily Star, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Mail and The Guardian all comment on Martinez’s words about Manchester United’s bid for Blues duo Leighton Baines and Maroune Fellaini being ‘a waste of time’.
Finally the Daily Express run a story on rumours Manchester United are setting their sights elsewhere following the rejected bid for Baines. Southampton defender Luke Shaw appears to be their next target.
