Under-21s Ready For Hammers

Alan Stubbs' side set for first home game of 2013/14 on Monday.

Under-21s Ready For Hammers

Everton Under-21s play their first home game of the 2013/14 campaign when West Ham visit Southport on Monday evening.

The Blues kicked off their season with a 2-0 win at Wolves last week, with the revised Barclays Under-21 Premier League format bringing a few changes to the calendar.

Now in a 22-team league featuring all fellow clubs with Category One academy status, Everton will face each of their 21 competitors only once - home or away - before a play-off system to determine final standings.

With a host of Premier League grounds to visit this term, including three games at Goodison Park, the more familiar surroundings of Southport's Merseyrail Community Stadium is set to be the venue on Monday (7pm kick-off).

The Hammers began their season with a 3-0 home win over Aston Villa and were victorious on both occassions against Alan Stubbs' side last term, but a series of tough pre-season tests and three points in the Midlands sees the Toffees in good shape ahead of the game.

Entry is free for Everton and Southport Season Ticket holders, as well as FOREVERTON members. Admission otherwise is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions on the gate.

For those unable to attend, keep an eye on evertonfc.com and the Club's Twitter account for match updates.
