Leon Osman believes both Everton goals in the 2-2 draw with Norwich City show the Blues are quickly adapting to new manager Roberto Martinez’s style of play.

The Spaniard earned rave reviews for the manner in which both his Swansea City and Wigan Athletic teams played during his time at both clubs, and Osman believes the same will soon be said for Martinez at Goodison Park.

All but one of the 11 players in royal blue at Carrow Road had a hand in constructing the second goal for Seamus Coleman and while they did take a little while to settle, the Toffees played some very attractive football against the Canaries.

It was an enjoyable first 90 minutes for Osman, who insists that the players are coming to terms with their manager’s instructions.

“We showed our intent in our passing play and played some really good stuff at times,” he told evertontv.

“For the first goal we passed it around well, managed to get it to Ross Barkley on the edge of the box and he showed the quality that we all know he has got.

“If you have a bit of the ball and you are passing it around and creating openings then you are going to enjoy the game.

“But you have also got to be aware that you aren’t going to keep the ball for the whole 90 minutes and you have to be in the right positions when you give the ball away.”

The pick of the goals though was Barkley’s rasping drive from the edge of the box to register his first Everton goal, and midfield colleague Osman is pleased for the youngster.

“We are delighted he has scored his first goal,” he added. “We are all well aware of his ability. He thoroughly deserved it.

“He stood out but he has been threatening to play like that for two or three seasons now. He has matured over the past two or three months or so and if he can continue to perform like that then he’ll go a long way.”
