Marouane Fellaini features heavily in Friday’s local and national newspapers.
At his pre-match press conference yesterday, Roberto Martinez spoke about how the Belgian midfielder’s buy-out clause in his contract has now expired.
Subsequently, quotes from the Everton boss on Fellaini are included in the Liverpool Echo, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and The Times.
Also in the Echo, Martinez believes Arouna Kone will regain his form from last season now that Ramadan has ended. For a month in pre-season the summer signing was fasting from sunrise to sunset which has meant his involvement since joining from Wigan has been limited.
Victor Anichebe is another striker who features in the Echo. The Nigerian international says competition for places in attack will be of benefit to him and the team this season.
Elsewhere, Daily Mirror columnist Robbie Savage has predicted Everton to finish in eighth position this season.
