Under-21 Fixtures Announced

Second-string set for three Goodison outings in 2013/14.

Under-21 Fixtures Announced

Everton Under-21s are set to play three games at Goodison Park following the announcement of the 2013/14 fixtures.
The Barclays Under-21 Premier League schedule for the new term was announced on Friday afternoon, with the format undergoing a significant change from 2012/13.
The Blues will compete in a new 22-team league consisting of all clubs to have been designated as having a Category One academy. Each team will face each other only once - home or away.
And as part of the new rules, first-team stadiums are to be used on occasion.
Alan Stubbs' side are scheduled to walk out onto the Goodison turf for the first time in 2013/14 when they welcome Manchester United on 21 October (7pm kick-off).
The home of the Blues is also set to be the venue for the visits of Aston Villa and Middlesbrough on 20 January and 17 February respectively (both 7pm kick-offs).
The Under-21s will also play at some other well-known grounds on their travels, with trips to the Etihad Stadium, St James' Park and the Hawthorns just a few highlights.
Everton's other eight home fixtures will take place at Southport's Merseyrail Community Stadium, a ground they returned to call home midway through last season.
The Blues were in fine form in the second half of 2012/13, going on a 16-game unbeaten run before losing to Tottenham in extra time of the semi-final at White Hart Lane.
This year, the top four sides at the end of the 22-team table will face off in similar semi-final meetings, with a final crowning the overall Barclays Under-21 Premier League champions.
