Dewsnip Makes FA Switch
Academy head coach takes up role at St George's Park.
Neil Dewsnip, head coach at Everton's Academy, has left the Club to join the FA.
Dewsnip had been working under Academy manager Alan Irvine at Finch Farm, where he was responsible for overseeing coaching of all age-groups from nine upwards.
But he now takes up the role of technical lead for the 17-21 age group and will be based at the new national training centre at St George's Park.
During his time at Everton, Dewsnip was a key part of the Academy process which helped produce a string of international players, including Leon Osman, Wayne Rooney, Victor Anichebe and Jack Rodwell, as well as dozens of players who have become professionals in the lower leagues.
At the FA he will work under Dan Ashworth, The FA’s Head of Elite Development, who said: "It has long been said that St. George’s Park will only ever be as good as the people that will work here, making a difference to English football. That is true and these appointments underline this."
