With the summer transfer window now officially open, the Daily Mirror have compiled a club-by-club guide of the Premier League examining all the potential transfer activity that could take place between now and the end of August.

The paper claims that selling Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini would bring in excess of £38million which could then be reinvested in new recruits. Leroy Fer, Keisuke Honda, Gary Hooper and Arouna Kone’s names are all mentioned as possible targets for new manager Roberto Martinez.

Another Wigan Athletic man, Antolin Alcaraz, is said to be nearing a switch to Goodison Park, according to Monday’s Liverpool Echo. The article claims that the Paraguay international, who is available on a free transfer after his contract expired at the DW Stadium, could become a Blue in time for Everton’s first pre-season fixture against Austria Vienna.

The Liverpool Echo also features an interview with Ross Barkley who is encouraging Baines to remain at Everton despite last week’s reported interest from Manchester United.

Further stories regarding the Red Devils’ enquiry for Baines appear in the Daily Mail, Daily Express and The Guardian as the papers examine David Moyes’ immediate tasks at Manchester United. The Scot officially begins his reign at Old Trafford from today.
