Backroom Appointments Expected
Robert Elstone suggests new coaching staff arrivals are imminent.
Chief Executive Officer Robert Elstone says that the appointment of a new manager at Everton will lead to inevitable changes within the first team coaching setup.
The Blues playing squad report back to Finch Farm next week to begin their pre-season work under new boss Roberto Martinez.
No additional appointments in the backroom staff have yet been made but Elstone has suggested that will change in the coming days.
“For Roberto to bring in his team is absolutely what he wants to do, and we want to support him on it,” Elstone told evertontv. “We are working hard to do that and I’m hoping in the near future that Roberto will have his team.
“He is also integrating into a very strong, solid team that already exists here. There is a real spirit at Finch Farm and lot of experience. I know he will want to retain that Everton spirit but yes, he does want his own support team around him.
“We are working to make that happen and I’m sure we will succeed on that in the very near future.”
With new staff set to be welcomed, Elstone concedes that members of the current coaching group will be departing Everton.
Speaking on behalf of the Club, the CEO offered his appreciation of the efforts of those who are set to move on to fresh challenges elsewhere.
“There are a lot of people who have worked phenomenally hard and one of the things I said at the general meeting was that it was a team effort," Elstone added.
“Absolutely everything about this club is a team effort, so all the success we have enjoyed coming out of Finch Farm and on the pitch at Goodison is a result of a big, positive, hardworking team of people.
“Whoever ultimately moves on to new pastures goes with our best wishes and our thanks for all their contribution they have made to Everton Football Club.”
