The Liverpool Echo state Roberto Martinez is keen to recruit Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda despite rivalling interest from AC Milan. The CSKA Moscow playmaker’s contract expires in January but Everton could be set to make a bid of £5million to beat off competition from the Italian giants.
Another Russian-based midfielder, Aiden McGeady, is also rumoured to be on Martinez’s radar, according to the Daily Express. The Republic of Ireland international has been with Spartak Moscow since 2010 when he joined from Celtic.
Yesterday Birmingham City announced they had accepted two bids for winger Nathan Redmond, believed to be from Norwich City and Swansea City. The Daily Star claim that Everton are also interested in the 19-year-old, along with Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Fulham.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say Arsenal are considering making a move for Marouane Fellaini.
