Trio In World Cup Draw
Barkley, Lundstram and Long play as England draw with Iraq.
Three Everton players were involved as England Under-20s kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 2-2 draw against Iraq.
The young Lions were 2-0 up and should have closed out the match only for the gulf outfit to fight back and equalise in added time.
Ross Barkley and John Lundstram started the game, with Chris Long emerging as a second half substitute.
Captain Conor Coady put England ahead just before half time from a corner, with Barkley instrumental in the second after the break.
The Everton man lead a counter attack, surging through the midfield, before feeding Harry Kane who put it on a plate for Luke Williams.
Iraq were handed a way back into the contest when keeper Sam Johnstone rashly conceded a penalty which was duly converted.
And with the stifling heat perhaps taking its toll they equalised in added time. Right-back Jon Flanagan was down injured as they attacked down the left and eventually forced the ball home with virtually the last kick of the contest.
England's next game is on Wednesday against Chile.
