Martinez Eyes Neville Talks
Everton boss to speak with Neville over coaching future.
Roberto Martinez is keen to speak to Phil Neville about the former Everton captain's future.
The 36-year-old ended his playing career earlier this summer after eight years with the Blues.
He was part of the England Under-21s coaching team at the European Championships but their involvement ended on Tuesday evening.
Having confirmed his playing days are over, Neville must now decide what his next move will be.
And new Everton boss Martinez exclusively told evertontv: "I think Phil Neville is an Everton icon and I think he can bring a lot into his time as a coach.
"I really want to speak with him and see how he feels about his future."
Neville arrived at Everton from Manchester United in 2005 and became captain in 2007.
He has often spoken of his desire to move into coaching and has been taking his coaching badges over the last few seasons.
Neville said last week: "I have got two paths - one to go into the media, the other to go into coaching and management. I have got offers from both. I will sit down at the end of the tournament."
