It’s the comings and goings at Everton that dominate the Blues’ coverage in today’s papers.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Leroy Fer has again been linked with a move to Goodison Park, particularly if Marouane Fellaini should leave.
Elsewhere in the paper, there is a story on how likely or unlikely it is that new Blues boss Roberto Martinez may raid former club Wigan to strengthen his Toffees squad.
The paper also carries a story on Leighton Baines backing Phil Jagielka as Everton’s new skipper.
In the national press, Jagielka himself has been quoted on why he thinks Martinez’s appointment will be well received. Both the Daily Mirror and Daily Star cover the story on the Blues defender.
The Mirror also mentions that Arsenal have plenty of transfer targets in mind but are yet to trigger any sort of release clause in Marouane Fellaini’s contract.
Finally, the Daily Record reports that Everton reserve team coach David Weir is set to be named the new manager at League One club Sheffield United within the next 48 hours.
