Perfect Timing For Jagielka
Why assuming captaincy has arrived at the right time for Jags.
Phil Jagielka believes the Everton captaincy has come at the perfect time in his career.
Jagielka, 30, is assuming the armband following the departure of Phil Neville.
And after maturing into a first-team regular and England international, Jagielka now feels well equipped to lead the Blues squad.
"I am looking forward to it and it has come at the perfect time for me," he told evertontv as part of evertontv's upcoming Everton Captains series.
"I am 30 now and I have been here long enough to know how the Club works."
Jagielka insists his renowned ultra-committed on-field displays won't change now he's skipper.
But he admitted his duties at Finch Farm and around the Club would have to evolve.
He continued: "I would like to think people would come and see me if they want any advice or have a problem.
"I am not the quietest round the changing room so hopefully I will be approachable. On the pitch I find it easy to be captain but off the pitch it is going to be a bit different for me."
