'Show Must Go On'
Players won't let Moyes departure affect them, says Baines.
David Moyes may have departed but defender Leighton Baines insists the show must go on.
Moyes' Everton tenure came to an end last weekend with speculation now rife as to who will emerge as his Goodison Park successor.
Baines was signed by the former Preston chief in 2007 and developed under his tutelage to become one of the leading left-backs in Europe.
Everton also achieved regular top-seven finishes during his reign, qualified for the Champions League in 2005 and reached the FA Cup final four years later.
And while Baines will never forget what Moyes did for his career, he stressed the players would never let his absence prevent the Club moving forward.
"It's a massive loss to lose the manager," acknowledged the England international. "It was a sad day after the last game at Goodison particularly because you've been working with him for so long, he's always around, he's such a hard worker and he doesn't miss a beat.
“It will be so strange the day we walk through the door and he's not there.
"But football clubs live on and we'll live on, we'll move on.
"We'll always remember what he did for the Club and where he's put us, but it's up to the rest of us, the people who remain and the people who come in, to take it forward now and build on the foundations he's worked hard to put in."
