Pienaar: 'We'll Give Our All'
Midfielder eager for action after missing last two derbies.
Steven Pienaar is hoping to taste derby glory on Sunday after missing the last two meetings with Liverpool.
The Blues head to Anfield with victory on the agenda in order to maintain hopes of qualifying for European football next term.
Pienaar was suspended for the 2-2 draw against the Reds at Goodison in October and also cup-tied for last season's FA Cup semi-final defeat at Wembley.
Consequently, the South African is fired up and targeting a memorable win not too far from home.
"Derbies mean a lot and we know what's at stake," he told evertontv.
"For the people of the city and the pride of the Club, it's one of those games you don't want to lose.
"We will give everything to make sure we come away from Anfield with three points because it has been a long while since we won there."
The Blues sit five points above Liverpool going into kick-off, but are two points closer to a Europa League spot, currently occupied by Tottenham.
As such, Pienaar insists sights are set firmly on catching the sides above the Blues in the table as opposed to simply finishing above their neighbours.
"The most important thing is to get into Europe," he continued. "I know at this stage it is difficult but we just want to win the games and see how far we go.
"You don’t know what is going to happen on top of us. Maybe one of the teams can lose all their games and we win all ours.
"We just want to win the games that are left."
