The Liverpool Echo reports South African midfielder Daylon Claessen is on a week-long trial at Everton.
Like compatriot Steven Pienaar, Claessen started his career at Ajax Cape Town before joining Dutch giants Ajax.
He failed to break into the first team at the Amsterdam Arena and moved onto Lierse in Belgium, where his contract ends this summer.
Claessen, 23, is an attack-minded player who made his debut for Ajax Cape Town aged just 16 years, nine months and 29 days and has also had trials at Real Madrid and Espanyol.
The Liverpool Echo also runs an interview with Marouane Fellaini in which the Belgian admits tiredness may have been a factor in Saturday's defeat at Sunderland, while in the same paper former Blue Ian Snodin insists there is still plenty for Everton to play for this season.
There is no Everton coverage in today's national newspapers, however local station Radio Merseyside are reporting David Moyes will be checking on the fitness of Darron Gibson, Phil Jagielka and Victor Anichebe ahead of Saturday’s game against Fulham, which will see a number of the 1963 championship-winning side return as special guests of the Club.
