David Moyes insists he won't be fazed by Paolo Di Canio's touchline antics this weekend.

The new Sunderland boss has developed a reputation for his jack-in-the-box technical area behaviour in his short managerial career to date.

But Moyes believes the fiery Italian will eventually calm down as he becomes more accustomed to management.

"He might be worried about the antics I get up to!" said Moyes when quizzed about his Black Cats counterpart at Friday's press conference.

"I think it shows you care - everybody has their own way of doing it but as you get a bit older I think you mellow and are a bit more mature with it.

"When you are starting out you are desperate to win games, you are desperate to get your ideas over and you will do everything you can to do that."

Di Canio managed to inspire his side to a 3-0 win over Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby to make himself an instant hero.

And Moyes admits the managerial changes at the Stadium of Light had caused him to experience mixed emotions.

"I think with Paolo going to the club it makes it a bit more interesting," admitted Moyes ahead of Saturday's clash.

"They had a terrific win in their derby so I think it will  give their players and their crowd a lift.

"I am disappointed for Martin O'Neill because he is a really good manager and a well-respected man throughout the league - and certainly by me.

"But Paolo is making his way as a young manager and he did a really good job at Swindon and his opening gambit at Sunderland has been very good.

"It is good when you see young managers come on the scene but it is sad when you see good managers leave.

"The result they had last week will have galvanised the club more than anything. I only know him a little bit, I have met him once or twice but I remember watching him for Celtic. He was a great player and an entertaining player."
