Vic On Track For Double Figures
Anichebe delighted at Everton win as he closes on 10 goal target.
Victor Anichebe was delighted with Everton's win - and the goal which keeps him on track to reach double figures.
The Nigerian's deft touch put the Blues 2-0 up against QPR on Saturday and was his eighth strike of the campaign.
Anichebe had previously declared his desire to reach 10 goals before the campaign ends.
He said: "Sylvain headed the ball across and I managed to poke it in.
"Hopefully I can finish the season with a couple more goals to get to double figures. I feel like I am getting stronger every single game and I feel like the team is getting stronger too."
Everton's victory means they remain contenders in the race to finish in the top five and secure European football next term.
"We are going to keep plugging away," continued the striker as he turned his attentions to Tuesday's trip to the Emirates.
"We will keep working hard every game. QPR have good players but we got the job done at the end of the day.
"We are close to fourth and fifth place and we will keep fighting.
"We will need to recover now for the big game against Arsenal and hopefully we can get three points against them as well."
Anichebe's manager David Moyes is delighted with the way his powerful charge has been performing lately.
Moyes added: "His overall form, the way he is playing, has been great. He probably should have scored a couple of goals today but he got an important one.
"You're beginning to say, 'hey, he looks like a tasty player'."
