Johnny Heitinga is the featured player in Saturday’s matchday programme for the visit of Stoke City.
The Dutch defender was instrumental in the huge win over Manchester City in the Blues’ last Goodison Park outing and he explains how good it felt to right the wrongs of the FA Cup exit at the hands of Wigan.

Speaking to the programme, Heitinga said. “The FA Cup defeat was terrible and it took me a few days to recover from it, but that’s the good thing about football – you cannot dwell too long on what has gone before, you have to look ahead almost straight away to the next game.
“The players and the staff were as disappointed as the supporters that we lost in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
“It was perhaps good for us that we had such a tough game against Manchester City immediately after the FA Cup game. We have always shown in the past that we enjoy testing ourselves against the best in the Premier League.
“I was so pleased for them after the Manchester City game and hopefully, we’ll get the same result against Stoke.”
Elsewhere in the programme, Neil Robinson talks about his one and only – not to mention forgotten! – goal against Chelsea, the Everton Ladies are back in action, and we take a look at Saturday’s opponents – with a little help from former Blue Mike Pejic.
Pick up your paper copy from the various sellers in and around Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime, priced at £3.
