Betting Preview: Reading

Following FA Cup success over Oldham Athletic, Everton are 2/5 to record their seventh Barclays Premier League home win of the season when Reading visit Goodison Park on Saturday.

David Moyes’ side will be out to gain some revenge for November’s 2-1 defeat at the Madejski Stadium and are 10/1 with Paddy Power to do so with a repeat of the same 3-1 scoreline that saw them ease past the Latics.

Belgian international Kevin Mirallas put a frustrating few months behind him to open the scoring against the League One outfit, setting Everton on their way towards a quarter-final showdown with Wigan.

With confidence undoubtedly coursing through his veins, Mirallas is an attractive 6/1 to get the first goal of Saturday’s game or 17/10 to score at any time.

Leighton Baines’ 34th-minute penalty was followed by a third from Leon Osman on 64 minutes, and Paddy Power make the pair 9/2 and 16/5 respectively to cap a decent week and breach Reading’s defence at any time on Saturday.

Osman is looking for his third goal in three games after also hitting the net against Norwich last weekend and is 15/2 to score first for his team or 8/1 to score in Paddy Power’s Insurebet market.

A penalty to be awarded in the game is 17/10, while the home side to score from the spot is 7/2.

Victor Anichebe will be hoping to be back in contention after missing Everton’s last two games through injury. Should the Nigerian return, he will be on the hunt for his third goal in four games and is 6/1 to open the scoring or 17/10 to net at any time.

Everton have one of the best home records in the Premier League, having only lost once so far this season – a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

With eight goals in their last three games at Goodison Park (3-1, 3-3, 2-1) in all competitions, Moyes’ men are 7/2 to add another three to their total.

The Toffees have also only failed to score once at home – in a goalless draw with Swansea - and are 23/10 to take control and win both halves against Reading.
