Distin: Back From The Brink - Special Podcast

The first in a new series of in-depth player interviews.

Distin: Back From The Brink - Special Podcast
Sylvain Distin

Today we launch the first in a new series of special evertonfc.com podcasts that will seek to unearth the stories behind the people who have made Everton great.

We will be speaking to players young and old, past and present to find out what makes them tick, what circumstances led to them pulling on the Royal Blue jersey and what secrets they’ve kept hidden over the years.

To find our first subject, we didn’t need to travel far. In fact, the Club’s Finch Farm training ground was the setting to learn the fascinating tale of the childhood and early career of one of Everton’s most experienced and respected players.

At 35, Sylvain Distin is regarded a pillar of reliability and a model of professionalism. Yet, aged 18, a perceived party lifestyle saw the Frenchman thrown out by first club Paris St Germain.

To discover the whole story and learn more about his rags to riches rise from the French non-leagues back to the club which once cast him aside, download the podcast or listen now via the player below.
