David Moyes believes John Lundstram will benefit from playing senior football during his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers.
The 19-year-old Academy graduate joined the South Yorkshire side on a one-month deal on Wednesday, becoming the latest young Blue to gain experience in the Football League this term.
Ross Barkley is back at Everton following spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United, while Jake Bidwell remains at League One Brentford as they continue their play-off push.
They follow several other examples over recent years - including similar moves for the likes of Shane Duffy, Luke Garbutt and Conor McAleny last season - and Moyes believes midfielder Lundstram has a good opportunity to develop at Keepmoat Stadium.
"John's one of the boys who hasn't gone out on loan and he hasn't had senior football yet," the Blues boss told evertontv in an exclusive interview.
"He's someone who we think a lot of and Doncaster have got seven or eight games coming up in the next month.
"I thought it was a good opportunity. They're going well, Doncaster, and I felt for John it might be the time to go and play some men's football."
