Oviedo Signals Cup Intent
Costa Rican says Blues are focused on winning silverware.
Bryan Oviedo says Everton are going into Saturday's FA Cup fifth round tie with ambitions of lifting the trophy.
The Blues head to Oldham Athletic at the weekend, with Boundary Park the stage of one of the shocks of the previous round.
Fellow Merseysiders Liverpool were stunned by the League One Latics, who recorded a memorable 3-2 victory to reach the last 16.
Now it is Everton who must prevail in Lancashire if they are to come within one game of a fourth Wembley appearance in as many years.
And Oviedo insists that the determination to avoid an upset is clear.
He told evertontv: "Everything is focused on this game because it is very important for us.
"It's a very nice game because we want to win the FA Cup."
Oviedo only moved to Goodison Park in the summer, but the Costa Rican international already knows the importance of the world's oldest domestic football competition.
The left-sided flyer featured during the Blues' third round 5-1 win at Cheltenham Town.
And the 22-year-old revealed that Everton's cup campaign is being keenly followed 5,500 miles away in his homeland.
"People at home know it is a very important competition in England," he said.
"Also, for the last two rounds, everybody back home has been looking for Everton and for me to see how we do in these games."

Liam ReillyHope he gets a start. The lad has been patient and deserves a look in. Playing Naismith out of position is not doing him nor the team any favours.
