Howard Is January Player Of The Month
Keeper wins prize for best Blues player in January.
Tim Howard
Tim Howard was named Everton's player of the month for January on Thursday afternoon.
The American goalkeeper picked up the award at a special lunch held at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool city centre.
He kept two clean sheets in six games in January, not conceding more than one in any of the other four matches.
His standout performance came in the goalless draw at Southampton (playing in the video above) as he produced a string of saves to ensure his side earned a point on the south coast.
Howard told evertonfc.com: "It's always nice to win individual awards and I was delighted when I was told about it but it's all about the team. I know that's a cliché but we're at the stage of the season now where it's all about results.
"January was a good month for us and we've still got a lot to aim for this season - we're going well in the Premier League and we're in the fifth round of the FA Cup. A lot of clubs would settle for that but we've just got to keep pushing forward and try to make this a season to remember.
