Everton new boy John Stones and midfielder John Lundstram helped England Under-19s inflict a 3-1 friendly defeat on Denmark on Tuesday.
Stones, a transfer deadline day arrival from Barnsley, played 67 minutes at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium, while Lundstram took the captain's armband and led his side expertly from start to finish.
Indeed, Noel Blake's Young Lions rarely looked in trouble on a freezing night in South Yorkshire and led 2-0 at the break courtesy of a clinical double from Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.
The visitors capitalised on an error from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to reduced the arrears early in the second half but a close-range strike from substitute Dominic Samuel ended any Danish hopes of a fightback.
