Nev Wary Of Bolton Threat
Captain says the Championship club should not be underestimated.
Phil Neville
Bolton Wanderers may be a Championship club but they still have players of Premier League quality.
That’s the opinion of Everton skipper Phil Neville, who has warned his teammates not to underestimate Dougie Freedman’s side when they meet in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Bolton dispatched Sunderland in the previous round and Neville – a three-time winner of the competition during his Manchester United days - is wary of Everton becoming their latest scalp.
“They [Bolton] will obviously be fired up for it,” Neville told evertontv. “They have got Stuart Holden coming back from injury, who I’m a massive fan of. Before his injury, he was one of the midfielders in other teams that you thought could go right to the very top. Being a friend of Tim Howard, he also speaks highly of his qualities.
“They have obviously got two ex-Liverpool lads in their team [David Ngog and Jay Spearing] so they will be fired up. They have also got Chris Eagles, who I played with at Manchester United, Zat Knight and Tyrone Mears.
“They have got Premier League experience, so that’s why they can’t be underestimated.”
