Baines Set To Face Swansea
Moyes monitoring left-back but expects him to be okay.
David Moyes expects Leighton Baines to be fit to face Swansea but says he is still monitoring the left-back's fitness.
Baines scored his fourth domestic goal of the season against Cheltenham Town on Monday evening before being replaced with a little under half an hour remaining in the tie.
Moyes said after that game that he was concerned by an ongoing ankle problem which the England left-back was contending with.
But speaking at his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: “He [Leighton] has got a bit of an ankle injury which we are monitoring. I expect him to be okay but we have got to watch him.”
Tony Hibbert has been absent since the start of December with a calf problem, while Moyes confirmed on New Year’s Eve that Darron Gibson would be out for around a month with a thigh strain.
Winger Kevin Mirallas last featured against Tottenham Hotspur just under five weeks ago.
Moyes added: “They are all doing better with injuries and they are all making progress, some a little bit quicker and some a bit slower. Kevin [Mirallas) is coming on.”
