Prize Winner's Delight
Fan wins four Half Season Tickets courtesy of Britannia.
A lucky Evertonian is looking forward to the first home game of 2013 after winning Half Season Tickets for his very own generation of Blues.
Paul Wheelock of Rainhill received a very welcome early Christmas present last month when he was randomly chosen as the winner of a prize draw, following his application for a mortgage with one of Everton’s official partners, Britannia, part of The Co-operative Bank plc.*
After picking up his four Half Season Tickets at the Chelsea match, Paul is now excited about watching the Blues in action for the rest of the season with his father – and his own junior Blue!
Paul said: “At first my dad took the call to say that we had won the prize and he thought it was a wind-up! When I applied for the mortgage with my wife, the staff at Britannia explained that they were a partner of Everton and that we would be entered into the prize draw so when my dad told me about the phone call, I was made up.
“Our first game on the Half Season Ticket was against Chelsea and that was my dad’s birthday too so it was fantastic for him. We both had Season Tickets for many years before I started having to work weekends so it’s great for us to go together again.
“My son, Thomas, is a couple of months old and I’ve put his name down for one of the Half Season Tickets too so hopefully we’ll be able to take him to his first match this season,” said Paul.
With the Blues in fine form and after an impressive display against Chelsea, Paul is looking forward to getting back to Goodison Park for the upcoming Premier League match against Swansea.
“The Chelsea game really gave me the buzz again and now I can’t wait for the rest of the season.”
Tickets are still available for Everton’s first home game of 2013 against Swansea City at Goodison Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off). Ticket prices start from £31 for adults, £15.50 for juniors and £20.25 for over 65s.
