Roberts Eyes Blue Reunion

Cheltenham's former Blues keeper on Monday's FA Cup clash.

Cheltenham's Connor Roberts is looking forward to renewing acquaintances with some familiar faces on Monday night.
 
The goalkeeper left Everton in the summer after three years in the academy and reserve ranks.
 
He never threatened the Blues' first team but did strike up relationships with some of the players who are now entering David Moyes' thoughts.
 
"Ross Barkley was in the same team as me and he's one to watch in midfield," said Roberts ahead of Monday evening's FA Cup third round clash between the two sides.
 
"I lived with the big Irish centre-half Shane Duffy for a while and I think he has a chance of starting along with Tyias Browning, who was on the bench for their game against Chelsea on Sunday."

Roberts trained alongside Everton's international goalkeepers and was able to grasp the impressive regime Moyes has established.
 
"Training with Chris Woods and first team keepers Tim Howard and Jan Mucha was such a great experience and I learned so much from them every day," continued the young custodian. "The club's Latin motto translates to 'nothing but the best is good enough' and that sums up what David Moyes has done there."
 
Roberts' view is shared by former Premier League midfielder Darren Carter who is also now with the Robins.
 
Carter played at Birmingham and West Brom before joining Moyes' former club Preston.
 
"When you look at their squad now, with the experience and quality they have it's just fantastic throughout," he said.
 
"From my time there [Preston] I had a good glimpse of what they are all about and the fact that David Moyes managed Preston, there were a lot of ties between the clubs.
 
"I know what they are all about and it's a club that does everything properly. The job Moyes has done is fantastic - every year they are a solid Premier League team and this year in particular they are riding high."
