Marouane Fellaini returns from suspension to boost Everton as the Blues face Newcastle.
The Belgian has served his three-match ban and is restored to the starting line-up at St James' Park.
He replaces Victor Anichebe, while Phil Neville is also back in the side in place of Thomas Hitzlsperger.
The changes mean skipper Neville is likely to operate in midfield, with Fellaini in his regular position off Nikica Jelavic.
That would mean Phil Jagielka continuing at full-back with John Heitinga and Sylvain Distin the central defenders.
Darron Gibson is missing with his hamstring problem while Seamus Coleman, Kevin Mirallas and Tony Hibbert are also out injured.
Newcastle are without leading scorer Demba Ba as he discusses a potential transfer to Chelsea.
Everton: Howard, Jagielka, Heitinga, Distin, Baines, Osman, Neville, Pienaar, Naismith, Jelavic.
Subs: Mucha, Oviedo, Hitzlsperger, Anichebe, Gueye, Duffy, Vellios.
Newcastle: Krul, Perch, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Santon, Tiote, Anita, Cisse, Marveaux, Obertan, Shola Ameobi.
