Ossie Thanks 'Terrific' Fans
Midfielder grateful for support at home and on the road.
Leon Osman admitted Everton's fans played their part in Saturday's win at West Ham - and is relishing a double-header at Goodison as the festive period continues.
The midfielder was instrumental at Upton Park as the Blues completed yet another comeback this season to earn a 2-1 win over the Hammers.
And with home clashes against Wigan and Chelsea on Boxing Day and 30 December respectively, Osman knows the importance of support from the crowd, both on Merseyside and on the road.
"It’s always important to have the fans with us," he said.
"The traveling fans are terrific and we always fill our quota at every away ground. I’d like to wish them a merry Christmas and hopefully see them all on Boxing Day!"
Everton's victory over the Hammers was made even tougher with the disputed cancellation of Osman's early header.
Despite seeing his effort fly into the net, the 'goal' was ruled out and left the Blues baffled.
"I felt my goal was good," Osman explained. It was a corner into the box, I have got on the end of it, no foul and the next thing the linesman is flagging.
"I couldn’t quite understand what it was for and he said it was because Victor blocked the goalkeeper.
"It’s strange because every team in the league does that week in, week out. But, as against Manchester City, the little decisions in the box seem to going against us.
"However, to come away from home and win away in the Premier League is never easy. But we came and did a really good job. We played when we had the chance, we stood up physically when they bombarded us with high balls, and I felt we got the right result."
