Website Voted 'Best In Class'
evertonfc.com achieves top grade for sports sites.
The Club's official web platform received top marks for content and feature functionality from the judging panel of the IMAs, achieving a score worthy of a Best in Class award in the sports category.
IMA organisers said: "The Best in Class award is the highest honour bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, your site had to successfully pass through our comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each of our judging criteria - an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year."
Out of a maximum total of 500, the site scored a fantastic 480:
Feature Functionality: 100
Standards Compliance & Cross-Browser Compatibility: 91
Everton are in good company, with the San Francisco 49ers Stadium website also receiving a Best in Class Award in sport and the likes of Disney, Dove, energy.gov, the Four Seasons hotel and MSN being selected as Best in Class within their respective categories.
Everton's official website is developed by Liverpool-based agency Rippleffect, with all content delivered by the Club's in-house team of New Media Journalists.
Mark Rowan, Everton's Head of Media and Communications, said: "This award is welcome recognition for the hard work and effort put in by everybody associated with the official Club site. We have a strong, talented team who work on the site to deliver engaging, informative and varied content.
"We are constantly striving to improve and enhance our offering and it is hugely satisfying that those efforts have been recognised in this way."
Ben Hatton, Managing Director or Rippleffect, said: "We're immensely proud of our work with Everton over the last 10 years. The Club has often been singled out for being one of the most innovative users of digital marketing in the Premier League, so to receive international recognition is a great testament to the passion, hard work and creativity our team continues to invest."
The Club also picked up two prestigious awards for it social media activity earlier this year, seeing off competition from some of the biggest names in the industry.
The Blues together with web agency Rippleffect won ‘Best Use of Social Media to Research and Evaluate’ and ‘Best Social Media Campaign’ accolades at the ‘somecomms awards’ for the successful #standtogether Season Ticket campaign.
