Sheedy: Big Dunc A Manager In The Making
Under-18s coach says Ferguson could become a top boss.
Kevin Sheedy believes Duncan Ferguson has the potential to develop into a top-class manager.
The Scot became a member of the Academy’s backroom staff in late 2011 and is currently cutting his teeth as a coach with the Club’s younger players.
Ferguson has so far passed his A and B coaching badges and is now in the process of studying for the pro-licence qualification.
Sheedy has been impressed by the 41-year-old’s enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge since he returned to the Club.
The Under-18s coach also feels Ferguson’s legacy at Everton is helping him command the respect of those aspiring talents under his tutelage.
“Duncan has worked extremely hard. In my opinion he is a good manager in the making,” said Sheedy.
“He’s a very committed and passionate guy who loves being out on the training ground working with the lads who certainly think very highly of him.
“My era as an Everton players was a long time before them but they can really relate to him as a Blue icon so he’s very well respected, but it’s as much for his ability as a coach as for his playing reputation.”
