Marouane Fellaini insists he'll be showing no early festive good will to a close trio of international friends as Everton prepare to enter a crucial stage of their season.

The in-form midfielder is set to come up against Belgium teammates Thomas Vermaelen, Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen in the next 12 days as David Moyes' men welcome Arsenal and Tottenham to Goodison Park, either side of a tricky trip to champions Manchester City.

All commanding centre-halves, Fellaini is thrilled to see his national side laden with such strength.

As an Evertonian, however, he hopes an inside knowledge of their flaws can help trigger a vital run of wins.

"I know [their weaknesses] but it's also difficult to play against your friends. It's difficult, but football is like this," said Fellaini, who is set to return to the side after missing Saturday's 1-1 draw with Norwich through suspension.

"I can't explain how, but everybody knows that the Belgian squad has big players, good players. Everybody now plays in the Premier League and I will see three players against Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham over the next few weeks.

"I think it's good for the national team that every player plays in the Premier League because the Premier League is the biggest competition in the world at the moment. Everybody learns quickly, so it's good for Belgium.

"I also think for Everton it's a big month and if we take a lot of points we can start to think about finishing towards the top of the league at the end of the season."

In the video above Fellaini also talks about his form this season and why ending the campaign as Everton's top scorer is less important than the team's results*.
