Tyias Browning is eyeing a repeat victory for Everton Under-21s against Bolton on Monday evening.

Three points against a Wanderers side that have won once all season would go a long way to keeping the Blues in the hunt for qualification to Group Tier One in the next stage of the campaign.

To ensure qualification, Everton would need to finish either fourth of fifth. They currently occupy sixth spot with two matches remaining.

And right-back Browning told evertontv: “If we were more ruthless then we could have won a lot more games but we still have a chance of making it.

“We played Bolton not too long ago and we won. Hopefully we will win again.”

Last Sunday, the 19-year-old lined-up alongside Sylvain Distin in defence during the second-string's goalless stalemate with Reading at Goodison Park.

“He’s a good role model,” added Browning when speaking of the Frenchman who has made over 420 appearances in English football.

“He doesn’t slacken off and puts all his effort into games which shows that he cares. He’s one to look up to.

“He helps me through games, even in the warm-up and whenever we get a break he is telling you what to do.

“He has got a lot of experience and he likes to share it with the team, especially the back four.”

The teenager earned even more experience by travelling with David Moyes' side for this month's Premier League clash with the Royals.

A depleted squad provided an extra seat on the coach to the Madejski Stadium - although Browning was not part of the matchday squad of 18.

That brief taste of top-flight football, however, has now left him even more determined to progress to the top.

“It was something new and hopefully I will be able to do it more often,” he told evertontv. “Steve Round just told me to enjoy the experience. It’s a lot different than the Under-21s.

“All I can keep doing is my best. Hopefully I will be in future squads.”
