Everton and Norwich City have only locked horns five times in the Premier League over the course of the last 17 years.
One of the most memorable meetings between the two clubs in that time was at Carrow Road in October 2004 when David Moyes’ team edged a five-goal thriller.
The Blues took a two-goal lead into the break thanks to an early strike from Kevin Kilbane and a clinical Marcus Bent finish five minutes before the half-time whistle.
However, the Canaries came roaring back into the contest in the first quarter of an hour of the second half.
Leon McKenzie halved the deficit shortly after the restart, before Damien Francis made the game all-square on 57 minutes.
Having seen his side squander their two-goal lead, Moyes sent for substitute Duncan Ferguson on the hour mark – and, not for the first time, the big frontman proved to be the match-winner.
A mere 13 minutes after his introduction, Ferguson scored the game’s fifth and decisive goal, meeting Steve Watson’s cross with a thumping header to ensure Everton brought all three points back to the North West.
