Cahill Delight At Everton Start
Former midfielder thrilled by Club's early-season success.
Tim Cahill may no longer be an Everton player - but he remains an Evertonian.
And as a fan he has been thrilled to see the Blues battling it out at the top end of the table this season.
"I am so happy for Everton - nobody more than the chairman and manager whose rewards are starting to show," said Cahill.
"The biggest thing I miss (as a player) is the derby. There are two great teams in one city and when I watch the derby it gives me goosebumps."
Cahill returned to the UK last week to catch up with friends following New York Red Bulls' MLS play-off defeat to DC United.
His career has taken a new turn in recent months - but he admits he would still like the opportunity to figure in the Premier League again in the future.
As a Blue, he admits Everton would be his preference, although he accepts it is unlikely.
He added: "The main thing is that I get to enjoy the MLS but I could also get the chance of joining back up in the Premier League and playing in the best league in the world. There is no shadow of a doubt, I am eager to come back.
"It would be nice (if it was Everton) but it is not down to me. I have to respect that sometimes the ship has sailed."
