Boss Hails Top Performers
My boys among best in the league, says Moyes.
If anyone was to pick a team of the season so far, Everton players would make up almost half the starting line-up.
That's the opinion of manager David Moyes, who has been so impressed by his star men this season, he is struggling to think of too many better Premier League performers.
Just one defeat from their opening 11 games has left Everton fourth in the table going into Saturday's meeting with Reading.
And Moyes said: “Marouane [Fellaini] is a difficult player to stop, Leighton Baines has done an awful lot for us, Steven Pienaar’s got that combination with him and Kevin Mirallas has done brilliant.
“Nikica Jelavic looks like he’ll get the goals — and we all know the form Leon Osman’s been in.
“So I definitely think three or four of our players would be close to the best XI for the start of the season.”
Arguably the pick of the bunch has been Belgian powerhouse Fellaini.
And Moyes added: "[Robin] van Persie is doing very well for Manchester United, too, and [Juan] Mata is doing exceptionally for Chelsea. [Luis] Suarez is playing very well but Fellaini is certainly in that category."
