Young Blue's Billboard Surprise
Everton fan Grace is face of Half Season ticket adverts.
One lucky junior Blue got a very special surprise on Saturday when she arrived at Goodison Park to find her face smiling back at her from a giant billboard at the stadium.
For nine-year-old Grace Maude of Southport, it wasn't just the Blues' dramatic win against Sunderland that made her day, but the discovery that she has been chosen as the face of Everton for this year's Half Season Ticket campaign.
With the 10-match package now on sale, Grace's smiling face will be seen on billboards, adverts and on evertonfc.com to showcase the fantastic price tag of £50 for kids under the age of 11.
Grace's Mum Teresa said: "We were so excited on Saturday! We were walking down Bullens Road and the billboard was in front of us and I said to her, ‘Grace is that you!' and she said, 'I think it is my coat!'
"It was a lovely surprise. It has made my year, I cannot tell you how thrilled we were, so thank you so much to Everton for choosing Grace.
"I went to collect her from school earlier and one of the parents stopped me and said they had seen Grace on the posters. She thinks it's amazing, she kept saying, ‘I cannot believe it is me'."
"She was in the match programme on Saturday too so she took it into school on Monday to show everyone. She thinks she is a celebrity now, she is so thrilled," added Teresa.
As a committed Season Ticket holder in the Upper Bullens, Grace is the perfect choice to champion matchdays at Goodison to the younger generation of Blues.
"She absolutely loves going to the match," said Teresa. "I was brought up minutes away from the ground and always went to the match with my dad. Grace started to show an interest a couple of years ago so we went to a few games and she loved it so we got her a Season Ticket last year. She went to Wembley too and now her aim is to go to Europe!"
Grace visited Finch Farm earlier this year to take part in the photoshoot as part of the main Season Ticket campaign.
Season Ticket holders and members of official Everton Supporters' Clubs were invited to take part and as a lifelong member of Everton Southport Supporters' Association (ESSA), Grace was eager to get involved.
"We had the photos taken ages ago but when they weren't used in the main Season Ticket campaign so we were disappointed but at least we got to see Finch Farm, that's the main thing," said Teresa.
"We had a fantastic time just getting the photos taken, everyone was lovely with Grace so that was a memorable day in itself. But now her picture has been used as well, we are just thrilled."
Kids under the age of 11 can secure their seat for the second half of the season for only £50 - the lowest priced Half Season Ticket to date.
Prices for juniors (under 16s) have been frozen and start at £99, whilst adults can buy a Half Season Ticket from just £289.
Half Season Tickets are now available to buy from the Box Office at Goodison Park and Everton Two in Liverpool One. Alternatively supporters can call the Fan Centre on 0871 663 1878* or buy online.
