Osman Handed England Call-Up
England manager Roy Hodgson said: "It is an interesting squad, a nicely balanced squad with some young players and one or two new players who we would like to look at, people like Leon Osman for example.
"He is a player that I have admired since coming back to Fulham five years ago. He is a player that I think has always done extremely well, whenever I have played Everton or watched Everton his performances have been really good.
"He faces stiff competition in that part of the field where he plays, but on this occasion we have got the opportunity to bring Leon in and meet him and work with him and see how he fits in with what we are trying to do at international level."
Academy graduate Osman has England Under-21 caps but has never been in a senior squad before.
His call-up is reward for the excellent form he has showed for the Blues this term.
Everton legend and former England international Peter Reid Tweeted: "Congratulations Leon Osman, well deserved England call up."
