Sylvain Distin's over-riding emotion in the wake of Sunday's derby draw was one of disappointment.

Despite fighting back from a two goal deficit to secure a share of the points, Everton's French defender left Goodison Park on Sunday evening feeling frustrated that all three points hadn't been secured.

He told evertontv: "We look back with a bit of frustration but I guess we'll be happy after coming back from 2-0 down.

"It's a draw and we're disappointed, but that shows the ambition and determination of the lads. We once again wanted to win, so right now we feel disappointed. But when you look at the bigger picture, we've lost only one game out of nine in the league."

After falling behind inside 19 minutes to an own goal from Leighton Baines and a Luis Suarez header, Everton fought back impressively. A quickfire strike from Leon Osman and Steven Naismith's first competitive goal for the Club ensured the side's unbeaten run in the league was extended to six games.

Indeed, it is the fourth consecutive game in the league in which Everton have fought back from a losing position to take something from the contest.

The Blues have netted two or more goals in six of their nine games this term. A third eluded them on Sunday but Distin believes the Toffees had enough opportunities before the interval to have turned a deficit into a half-time lead.

He added: "They scored two and you just know if they get a third it's going to be nearly impossible to come back, but if you score next, you're back in the game. That's what we did.

"I believe we could have scored a third just before half-time and we didn't, but then I thought it would come in the second half. It never came and I think that's why we were disappointed in the end."

Alec WalkerI think the tackle that made Mirallas miss the second half was bad and prevented us from winning. We did miss him then.
