David Moyes says that Marouane Fellaini has 'a good chance' of being fit for Sunday's Merseyside derby.

The Belgian midfielder has been sidelined with a knee injury since the 2-2 draw at Wigan, but could return to the starting line-up for the visit of Liverpool.

"He's doing a bit of light training, so we'll see how he is,” revealed Moyes at his Friday press conference. “He's not a definite, but I think he has a good chance.

"If he makes it, it will be a boost, if he doesn't it well be a miss. If we don't have him and Steven Pienaar then it will be two important players out. That is why you give people the opportunity to see what they can do, when they do get the chances they have to try and take them."

The Blues manager is also hopeful that Tony Hibbert could make his return for the fixture, but has ruled midfielder Darron Gibson out.

Local lad Hibbert has played in more Premier League derbies than any Everton player, and featured in the Under-21s' game against Arsenal on Monday following a calf problem.

Gibson, meanwhile, has been out of action with a thigh injury since the 2-0 defeat at West Brom.

Moyes said: "With Tony, we're not 100 per cent sure, but we'll monitor him. He's done a bit of training and took part in a game earlier in the week, so hopefully he'll have a chance.

"Darron Gibson's not fit. He won't be available."

Pienaar is unavailable as he serves a one-match ban following his red card at QPR.
