Kevin Mirallas hopes compatriot Marouane Fellaini will be back for the derby.
Fellaini has been recovering from a knee injury and missed two international games for Belgium and Everton's 1-1 draw at QPR last weekend.
His international teammate knows the threat Fellaini possesses and is backing him to recover in time to line-up against Liverpool on Sunday.
"I think he will be playing on Sunday," said Mirallas in a local newspaper.
"He is a fantastic player and when he's not there it's harder for the team to get good results."
Fellaini has three goals this season and has been one of the Blues' best performers this term.
Mirallas added: "It's also good to have Marouane available because he is scary for the other team. People in the opposition fear him.
"It will be really important for him to play. He would be a psychological asset."
